The Drip Line: Atom
A downloadable game for Windows
The Drip Line: Atom is an interactive subatomic sandbox that lets you manually build elements, manipulate isotopes, and play with nuclear physics.
The stability of the atom is actively calculated, as you are building based on real-world neutron-to-proton ratios. You are able to see how far you can push the strong nuclear force before the nucleus is ripped apart.
Add protons to move along the periodic table, remove electrons to create highly charged ions, or add neutrons until the Geiger counter goes insane.
Features:
| Tactile Subatomic Sandbox | To experiment with heavier elements, you can instantly jump to different atomic numbers (Z) or manually add or subtract protons, neutrons, and electrons one at a time. |
| Dynamic Instability Engine | The game calculates the "stress" of your isotope in real-time. |
| Geiger Counter Tension | A custom timer creates a realistic, randomized Geiger counter crackle that accelerates as you approach critical mass. |
| Two-Tier Alpha Decay | Hover in the "danger zone" and the atom will probabilistically trigger an alpha decay. |
| Reactive Quantum Cloud | Driven by a custom Niagara particle system, the electron cloud reacts to ionization. Remove electrons to create a bright and positive core, or add electrons to turn the electrons into fog. |
The game is still in development so you might encounter bugs or unintended features.
